Meltaway Cookies

These delicious Meltaway cookies are fun for a party or a quick after snack. They are made with cake flour, rather than all-purpose flour, which adds to their soft, cake-like texture. Their flavor can be changed in a variety of ways- see the note below the instructions for some ideas!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar (pre-sifted)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cake flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 400.
  2. Mix together butter, confectioner’s sugar, and vanilla, making sure to blend thoroughly.
  3. Stir in flour and salt; blend well.
  4. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. (Cookie do not spread)
  5. Bake about 8 minutes- until set but not brown.
  6. While cookies are warm, dip in confectioner’s sugar.
  7. Allow cookies to cool thoroughly before enjoying!

Makes approximately 5 dozen cookies
